女娲造人
Nuwa Creates Humans

After Pangu separated the sky and the earth, the space between them gradually took shape.
In the sky, there was the sun and also the moon. On the ground, there were mountains, rivers, and many plants. When the wind blew, the leaves rustled softly.
Nuwa walked on the earth.
She walked past a mountain and saw a deer running in the grass. She walked to a river and saw fish swimming in the water. She looked up at the sky and saw birds flying under the clouds.
But Nuwa always felt that something was missing.
In the morning, the sun came out, and the mountains and rivers were bright. But no one spoke. In the evening, the moon came out, and the earth became quiet again. Still, no one spoke.
Nuwa sat alone by the river, looking at the reflection in the water.
The water was very clear, reflecting her face. She looked for a long time and suddenly had an idea. If only there were beings like me on the earth.
As soon as this thought came out, her heart lit up.
They could walk, they could talk. When happy, they could laugh. When afraid, they could hold someone's hand.
Thinking of this, Nuwa lowered her head and picked up some mud from the riverbank.
The mud was a little wet and a little soft. Nuwa placed the mud in her palm and slowly pinched it. First, she pinched a head, then a body. Later, she pinched two hands and two feet.
After a while, a small clay figure was finished.
Nuwa looked at him and gently blew a breath. The little clay man's eyes moved. He looked at Nuwa, then around, and then stood up.
He took two steps, almost fell. Nuwa reached out and steadied him.
She picked up more mud and made a second little person. Then she made a third, a fourth. More and more little people appeared, and the riverbank gradually became lively.
Some little people looked at their own reflections by the water. Some walked around on the grass. Others imitated bird calls; their voices were very soft but pleasant.
Nuwa looked at them and felt very happy.
She continued making. She made many, many people. Later, these people went to different places. Some lived by the river, some went to the foot of the mountain, and some rested under trees.
During the day, they looked for water together; at night, they slept under the trees together. They could talk and listen to others.
From then on, the earth was no longer just mountains, rivers, plants, and animals.
There were humans on the earth. People could walk, talk, laugh, and find ways to live. The quiet world gradually became lively.
Nuwa stood by the river, looking at the people in the distance.
The river still flowed, the plants still grew. But now, the wind carried the sounds of people. Nuwa knew that the earth had a new day.
