Chapter 15
The master and disciple continued walking westward and arrived at Snake Coil Mountain and Eagle Sorrow Gorge.
Wukong saw demonic aura on the water surface and became alert in his heart.
Suddenly, a cry came from the water, and a white dragon fiercely jumped out of the water surface.
The white dragon was very hungry, and seeing people and a horse on the shore, it directly pounced towards Tang Seng.
Wukong hurriedly dropped the luggage, hugged his master, and rolled to the side.
The white dragon did not catch anyone, swallowed the white horse in one gulp, and then immediately dived back into the deep water.
Wukong wanted to chase, but worried that there was no one to protect his master.
He was hesitating when deities such as the Six Ding and Six Jia, and the Five Direction Protectors appeared in mid-air.
These deities were following orders to secretly protect Tang Seng.
Wukong then asked them to protect his master, and he himself jumped to the edge of the gorge and shouted insults loudly.
The white dragon heard the scolding, felt very angry, transformed into human form, jumped out of the water, and fought with Wukong.
The two fought for a long time, and the white dragon gradually couldn't win, so he pretended to attack once, then dived back into the water.
Wukong made the golden-hooped rod become long and thick, extended it into the water, and stirred forcefully.
The stream water immediately boiled and churned like boiling water, but the white dragon just hid and refused to come out anymore.
Wukong had no choice, so he summoned the local earth god and mountain god here, and asked them the reason.
The two minor gods told the Great Sage that this white dragon was originally the third prince of the West Sea Dragon King.
Because he set fire and burned the bright pearl in the hall, violated heavenly laws, and the Jade Emperor sentenced him to death.
Fortunately, Guanyin Bodhisattva pleaded for him, saved his life, and arranged him here.
The Bodhisattva let him wait for the scripture seeker from the Eastern Land of Tang, and in the future, transform into the scripture seeker's horse, using merit to make up for his sin.
Wukong heard this and said with a smile: "This is really a case of one's own people not recognizing each other."
The Earth God advised: This little dragon has a very stubborn personality, and I'm afraid he won't believe the Great Sage's words.
To make him sincerely obey, it would be better to invite Guanyin Bodhisattva to personally come and prove it.
Wukong thought it made sense, so he asked the Golden-Headed Guardian who protects Tang Monk to go to the South Sea and invite Guanyin Bodhisattva.
Soon, Guanyin Bodhisattva came along with the Guardian.
The Bodhisattva stood on a cloud and called out to the little white dragon.
Upon seeing the Bodhisattva, the little white dragon quickly transformed into human form and stepped forward to pay respects.
The Bodhisattva explained the previous events and reasons, and told him to pay respects to his master and senior brother.
Only then did the little white dragon realize that the monk before him was the scripture seeker, and he immediately bowed his head and admitted his mistake.
The Bodhisattva then stepped forward again, dipped a willow branch into a bit of sweet dew, gently brushed it over the little white dragon's body, blew a mouthful of immortal breath, and shouted "change".
That dragon then transformed into a horse that was entirely snow-white.
The Bodhisattva ordered to take down the bright pearl under the horse's neck.
This bright pearl is the symbol of the dragon, and only by removing it can the transformation be complete.
Then, the Bodhisattva dipped a willow branch in sweet dew and sprinkled it on the horse's body.
The horse then grew mane all over its body, looking exactly like an ordinary horse.
Tang Seng saw this and hurriedly bowed in gratitude.
Wukong, however, stood aside, remembered the tight hoop that the Bodhisattva had tricked him into wearing on his head, and took the opportunity to mention this matter, complaining a few words.
He also said that the road to the Western Heaven is very long, and the master is an ordinary person, not knowing when they will be able to arrive.
The Bodhisattva then comforted him with kind words, and also plucked three leaves from the willow branch in the pure bottle, blew a breath of immortal energy, turning them into three life-saving hairs, and gave them to Wukong.
The Bodhisattva instructed him to use them in times of danger.
Wukong obtained the treasure, felt very happy in his heart, and then said nothing more.
After the Bodhisattva drove away on the clouds, the master and disciple packed their luggage and continued their journey.
This white dragon horse was originally transformed from a divine dragon, running very fast, and moving as if flying.
However, the horse's back lacked a saddle and bridle, so Tang Sanzang rode it not very steadily.
One evening, they stayed in a memorial hall.
The owner of the memorial hall was an old man, who saw that Tang Sanzang's white horse had no saddle and bridle, so he took out a very good saddle, bridle, and reins and gave them to Tang Sanzang.
After Tang Sanzang and Wukong bowed in thanks, the old man then explained that he was the temple god here, and had been ordered by Guanyin Bodhisattva to specifically wait here and present the saddle and bridle.
The master and disciple then bowed in thanks to the Bodhisattva in the sky.
Early the next morning, they rode the horse and headed west.
