Chapter 14

That sound echoed in the mountains.

Tang Seng was very scared, thinking it was a demon.

Liu Boqin said, "Under the mountain, a divine monkey is pinned down."

He supported Tang Seng to go and find it.

They walked to the foot of the mountain and saw a monkey's head in the rocks.

The monkey's face was covered in dirt.

He saw Tang Seng and happily shouted, "Master."

You have come.

西

Quickly save me out, I will protect you to the Western Heaven.

Tang Seng did not understand.

Sun Wukong said that he caused havoc in the Heavenly Palace and was suppressed here by the Buddha.

Guanyin Bodhisattva told him to wait for the scripture seeker.

Tang Seng was very happy after hearing this and asked how to save him.

Sun Wukong said to go to the mountaintop and remove a talisman.

Tang Seng went up the mountain and removed the talisman.

As soon as he walked away, he heard a loud noise.

The Five Elements Mountain exploded open.

Sun Wukong jumped in front of Tang Seng and knelt down to kowtow.

Tang Seng helped him brush off the dirt from his head and asked his name.

Sun Wukong said: "My name is Sun Wukong."

Tang Seng again called him Sun Wukong.

西

Tang Seng and Sun Wukong bid farewell to Liu Boqin and continued walking westward.

On the road, a tiger jumped out.

Tang Seng was very afraid.

Sun Wukong smiled and said: "Just right."

西

My thing hasn't been used for a long time.

He took a needle out from his ear, shook it at the wind, and the needle turned into a large iron rod.

This is the Golden Hooped Rod.

Sun Wukong killed the tiger with one strike of the rod.

He plucked a hair, turned it into a knife, and peeled off the tiger's skin.

In the evening, they stayed in a household.

Sun Wukong washed his body clean.

Tang Seng made clothes from tiger skin under the lamp.

穿

Sun Wukong put on the new clothes and was very happy.

The next day, six robbers jumped out on the road.

They held knives and spears, demanding money.

Sun Wukong did not speak, took out the golden-hooped staff, and killed them with a few strikes.

Tang Seng saw this and felt very distressed in his heart.

He recited Amitabha Buddha and scolded Sun Wukong for killing people.

Sun Wukong heard this and was not convinced.

He said: "What I did is good, but you blame me instead."

"I will no longer be your disciple."

After saying this, he jumped onto the Somersault Cloud and flew away.

Tang Sanzang had no choice but to walk alone.

He encountered an old woman.

The old woman gave him a hat and a piece of clothing, saying they were gifts for his disciple.

She also taught Tang Sanzang a section of the Tight-Fillet Spell.

She said, "If the disciple disobeys, recite this spell."

After saying this, the old woman transformed into golden light and flew away.

Tang Sanzang knew it was a Bodhisattva and bowed to the sky.

Sun Wukong arrived at the East Sea Dragon Palace.

The Dragon King invited him to eat and asked him about the journey to fetch the scriptures.

Sun Wukong told about killing the bandits and being scolded by his master.

The Dragon King advised him: Great Sage, you must protect Tang Sanzang on the journey to fetch the scriptures to achieve enlightenment.

Sun Wukong listened and had thoughts in his heart.

He bid farewell to the Dragon King and went back to find Tang Sanzang.

Tang Sanzang saw Sun Wukong return and ignored him.

Sun Wukong felt embarrassed and followed behind.

He saw a hat in the luggage, which looked very nice.

He asked: Master, is this hat for me?

Tang Seng said: "It's from when I was little."

If you like it, I'll give it to you.

Sun Wukong was very happy and immediately put on the hat.

Tang Seng saw him put on the hat and silently recited the Tight-Fillet Spell in his heart.

The hat transformed into a golden fillet, tightening into Sun Wukong's head.

Sun Wukong's head hurt as if it was about to split open.

He was in so much pain that he rolled on the ground, grabbing his head with his hands, but the golden fillet couldn't be removed.

He kept begging for mercy.

Tang Seng stopped and asked him: "Do you dare to do it again in the future?"

Sun Wukong was scared by the pain and repeatedly said he wouldn't dare.

Tang Seng told him that this was the method the Bodhisattva used to control him.

Sun Wukong was both angry and afraid, but there was no way out.

西

He had no choice but to restrain his temper and follow Tang Seng westward.
