The world is divided into four great continents.

In the Eastern Continent of Divine Victory, there is a country called Aolai, and within the country, there is a mountain called Flower-Fruit Mountain.

On the mountain top, there is a piece of immortal stone.

The immortal stone absorbed the spiritual energy of heaven and earth and the essence of the sun and moon, and over time, life was born inside it.

One day, the immortal stone cracked open, and a stone monkey jumped out from inside it.

The stone monkey lived in the mountain, playing with a group of monkeys.

One day, the weather was very hot, and the monkeys were playing in the water next to a large waterfall.

A monkey said: "Whoever can jump into the waterfall and find the source of the water, we will worship him as the king."

The stone monkey heard this and immediately said: "I'll go."

He jumped into the waterfall and found that behind it, there was no water, only an iron-plate bridge.

Behind the bridge, there is a very large stone cave.

At the cave entrance, there is a stone tablet, with the words written on it: "Flower Fruit Mountain Blessed Land, Water Curtain Cave Paradise."

The stone monkey walked into the cave and saw that inside there were stone pots, stone stoves, stone bowls, stone basins, stone beds, stone stools, everything was there.

He was very happy and immediately went back to tell the monkeys outside.

The monkeys heard it and were all very happy.

They followed the stone monkey through the waterfall and came to live in the Water Curtain Cave.

After everyone settled in, according to the previous agreement, they all bowed to the stone monkey as the king, calling him the Handsome Monkey King.

From then on, the monkeys lived happily in the Water Curtain Cave for several hundred years.

One day, the Handsome Monkey King was drinking with the monkeys, suddenly became sad, and shed tears.

The monkeys asked him why.

The Monkey King said: "We are very happy now, but we will all die in the future and be controlled by the King of Hell."

Thinking of this, I feel sad.

The monkeys heard this and also became sad.

At this moment, a long-armed gibbon stood up and said: "I have heard that there are three types of people in the world who can live forever and are not controlled by the King of Hell."

They are Buddhas, immortals, and holy beings.

The Monkey King heard this and immediately stopped being sad.

He decided to go to the sea to find immortals and learn the magic of eternal life.

The next day, the Monkey King bid farewell to the monkeys.

He alone made a raft and floated on the raft towards the sea.

He experienced many difficulties and finally arrived at the Western Continent of Cattle-Gift.

A woodcutter told him that in the Slanted Moon and Three Stars Cave of the Lingtai Fangcun Mountain, there lived an immortal named Patriarch Bodhi.

The Monkey King followed the guidance and found the Three Stars Cave.

Next to the cave, there was a stone tablet inscribed with "Lingtai Fangcun Mountain, Slanted Moon and Three Stars Cave".

He was about to knock on the door when it opened by itself, and out walked an immortal boy.

The immortal boy said with a smile: "Master just said that someone who wants to practice cultivation has come outside, and it should be you."

The Monkey King quickly said yes.

The immortal boy then led him into the cave.

Upon seeing Patriarch Bodhi, the Monkey King immediately knelt on the ground, kowtowed continuously, and begged the Patriarch to accept him as a disciple.

Patriarch Bodhi asked about the Monkey King's background and saw that he was very sincere.

The Patriarch calculated again, realized that he and this monkey indeed had a master-disciple destiny, so he agreed to accept him and gave him a dharma name, called Sun Wukong.
