Chapter 2
After Lin Qinghe finished telling the story of a week ago, the coffee shop quieted down for a while.
The waitress behind the counter was called Shiyu. She looked at Lin Qinghe and then at the regular customer beside her.
That regular customer was Ye Mingtang. She owned a small bar nearby and spoke very directly. After listening, she only said, "I see."
But Lin Qinghe was not relaxed at all.
In others' eyes, she was a very capable person. She had good grades when studying, and quickly became a project manager after work. Everyone in the company thought she was smart, calm, and capable.
But feelings are not work.
For work problems, she could look up information, hold meetings, and make plans. But facing Gu Yuanzhou, she often didn't know how to say what was in her heart.
Gu Yuanzhou also met her through work. Two years ago, they worked together on a project. Later, they started dating.
They had been together for three years. Recently, Lin Qinghe started seriously thinking about marriage. She used to think work was the most important. But if the marriage partner was Gu Yuanzhou, she thought it would probably be good.
So a week ago, when Gu Yuanzhou said he had something important to tell her, she thought he might want to talk about marriage.
That day, they wanted to go to their usual coffee shop. But that shop was closed. The two continued to look for a place.
Finally, in a quiet alley, they saw this underground coffee shop.
The shop's name was "Funiguli, Funigula."
Lin Qinghe thought this name was a bit strange. She and Gu Yuanzhou were curious, so they went in.
The shop was very small, with dim lighting. A woman in a white dress sat in the innermost part reading. Ye Mingtang sat at the counter. Near the door, there was also a man reading a travel magazine.
Lin Qinghe didn't like it there at the time. She thought such a small shop was not suitable for discussing important matters.
But she didn't expect that she would break up with Gu Yuanzhou here.
A week later, she remembered the legend of this shop.
That evening, while watching TV, Lin Qinghe heard the term "urban legend." She recalled that she had heard of a coffee shop before.
The rumor was that the shop could send people back to the past.
Lin Qinghe's heart immediately became disturbed.
If she could go back to a week ago, she could see Gu Yuanzhou again. She could avoid saying "You go." She could say what she really wanted to say.
She knew it sounded very unrealistic. But she regretted it too much. She wanted to grasp this hope.
The next day, she went to work, but she couldn't concentrate. She stared at the computer, thinking only about that coffee shop.
After work, she immediately left the company. She took the tram, and then quickly walked from the station to that alley.
When she pushed open the door of the coffee shop, she was still panting.
As Shiyu was about to say "Welcome," Lin Qinghe had already walked to the counter.
"Please let me go back to the past!"
Everyone in the shop looked at her.
Ye Mingtang looked at her, as if finding this a bit amusing. But Shiyu was calm. She did not agree, nor did she refuse.
Lin Qinghe felt a little uneasy.
If this shop can send people back to the past, why aren't there many customers?
She asked, "It can go back to the past, right?"
Shiyu did not answer immediately.
But she also did not say "no."
Lin Qinghe felt a bit of hope again.
"Please let me go back to the past." She said again.
Ye Mingtang asked, "After you go back, what do you want to do?"
Lin Qinghe did not hesitate.
"I want to make up with him again."
