The Jade Emperor ordered people to tie Sun Wukong to a pillar.

The heavenly soldiers used knives to chop him, axes to hit him, and also used thunder and fire to attack him.

But Sun Wukong was not injured, and he was still laughing.

Because he had eaten the immortal peaches and elixirs, his body was very hard, and these attacks were useless.

Taishang Laojun said to the Jade Emperor: "Give Sun Wukong to me."

I will put him into my furnace and burn him with fire.

This way, we can retrieve the elixirs and also defeat him.

The Jade Emperor agreed.

Taishang Laojun ordered the boy to make the furnace fire burn very fiercely.

They locked Sun Wukong into the furnace and burned him for forty-nine days.

The Supreme Lord Laozi thought Sun Wukong was already dead.

He had the boy open the furnace door.

Unexpectedly, Sun Wukong shouted loudly and jumped out of the furnace.

His eyes were flashing with golden light.

Originally, there were eight places in the furnace.

Sun Wukong found a place with only wind and no fire to hide.

The fire did not burn him, but the smoke turned his eyes into fiery golden eyes.

These eyes could see who is a monster.

Sun Wukong was very angry.

He took out the golden cudgel, fought back many heavenly soldiers, and fought all the way to the outside of the Jade Emperor's palace.

The heavenly soldiers feared he would harm the Jade Emperor, and immediately surrounded him.

But Sun Wukong was not afraid.

He wielded the golden-banded staff very fast, and no one could get close.

The Jade Emperor saw that no one could defeat Sun Wukong, so he had to send someone to ask Buddha for help.

Buddha arrived, and he first advised Sun Wukong to surrender.

Sun Wukong said with a smile: "People say, 'The emperor can be replaced by someone else'."

You should let the Jade Emperor give the Heavenly Palace to me.

Otherwise, I will not leave.

Buddha said: "Let's make a bet."

If you can flip out of my palm, I will let the Jade Emperor give the Heavenly Palace to you.

If you cannot flip out, you will go back to being a monster. Okay.

Sun Wukong thought this was very easy.

He jumped onto the palm of Buddha Tathagata.

Sun Wukong performed a somersault cloud and flew forward rapidly.

He flew for a long time and saw five red pillars ahead.

He thought: This must be the edge of the sky.

I must leave a mark.

He plucked a hair, turned it into a pen, and wrote eight characters on the middle pillar: Great Sage Equal to Heaven, visited here.

He also urinated under the first pillar.

Then, Sun Wukong somersaulted back and landed on the hand of Buddha Tathagata.

He said: "I flew to the edge of the sky and came back."

Quickly, let the Jade Emperor give me the Heavenly Palace.

Buddha Tathagata said with a smile: "Monkey, look at my finger."

Sun Wukong lowered his head to look and was startled.

He saw that on Buddha Tathagata's finger, the eight characters he had just written were inscribed.

There was also the smell of urine on the finger.

It turned out that those five pillars were the five fingers of Buddha Tathagata.

Sun Wukong had not flown out at all.

Sun Wukong knew he could not win, felt very scared in his heart, turned around, and wanted to run.

Tathagata Buddha turned his hand over and pushed downward.

Sun Wukong felt a great force pressing down, and he could not resist it.

He fell straight down from the sky.

Buddha's five fingers turned into five mountains.

These five mountains combined together, turning into one big mountain, pressing Sun Wukong under it, with only his head and one hand exposed.

Buddha then had Ananda take out a paper slip.

On the paper slip were six golden characters.

Ananda pasted the paper slip onto the stone at the mountain top.

The mountain immediately closed tightly.

Although Sun Wukong could shake the hand exposed outside, he could no longer come out.
